Article: Bones‘ 200th Episode and Mid-Season Finale Recap: Brennan and Booth Shine as Hollywood Royalty

“The 200th in the 10th” is a veritable orgasm of giddy colorful entertainment that will go down in the annals of Bones history as one of the most enjoyable of all time in several Bones-y sub-categories. Visually stunning and masterfully scripted, Bones makes rolling the clock back seven decades look as easy as flipping a light switch. From the cool blue-green and butter-yellow scenery, the breezy winding seaside cliff-driving, the impeccably manicuring of hem and crown, and the lively dialog dripping in suave jocularity reminiscent of Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint on the set of one of Hitchcock’s finest, this was one of Bones’ most sumptuous treats … (Read more.)

The highly celebrated 200th episode of Bones is a farcical romp reminiscent of the cinematography and aesthetic of Hitchcock’s North by Northwest and the chemistry-ridden repartee of McTiernan’s The Thomas Crown Affair during which, Brennan is reimagined as an officer with the LAPD while Booth is one of the best jewel thieves in the business. The dreamscape dramedy is a love letter from the Bones fairies to their 17 million fans worldwide who have stuck by them through a decade of love and loyalty. Article: Bones 200th Episode Infographic: Have You Found All the Easter Eggs?

How many times has Special Agent Booth saved Dr. Temperance Brennan’s life? How many times did the two have drinks together before they finally had their first real kiss? How many kisses have they shared since Christine was born? These are just some of the intriguing quantitative nuggets the Bones fairies wanted definitively calculated as they headed into their tenth season and toward the comedy-drama-crime-science-romance’s 200th episode airing December 11. The next important question they faced was how in the world they were going to amass all that minutia in the brief and sporadic moments they had between writing, directing, editing, staging, crafting, creating and promoting the nine episodes scheduled to air between the fall premiere and the 200th in December …  (Read more)

Folks, seven minutes into previewing the Bones 200th episode, “The 200th in the 10th” I already wanted these 45 minutes to stretch out to a couple of hours. The cinematography is rich and delicious. The dialog is smooth and dry. The characterization manages to magically reflect the mood and aesthetic of the 50s without tampering with the quintessential characterizations of the people we have fallen in love with over and over these last ten years of Bones viewing … (Read more)

Slideshow: The 33 Most Important Events in Booth and Brennan’s Journey

The chemistry was immediate and undeniable when Special Agent Seeley Booth sought out Forensic Anthropologist Dr. Temperance Brennan to help him with a seemingly unsolvable case. He was an alpha-egotistical maverick concerned only with catching the most nefarious criminals. She was a brilliant, arrogant and socially awkward pragmatist; a genius focused on finding facts and following protocol. Though well-suited for each other despite their differences, they allowed their pasts to keep them at a romantic distance bridged only by affectionate glances and tender words of love and support disguised as partnership gestures. Catherine, sorry to have been away for so long from reading or commenting on Bones “stuff!”
But for now, just wanted to say I so much enjoyed the “200 in the 10th!!” I’ve always enjoyed the old movie credits that run in the beginning of a movie & I loved that they did that in this episode! They looked so 50ish!! It was also reminiscent of “The End in the Beginning” where they did the alternate coma dream episode & didn’t use the regular opening credits or sequences! I love that they pay that kind of attention to the detail of what kind of show it is & how different from the “regular” show those were!! I thought 200/10 was a lot of fun & it was great to see so many guest stars participate!! I’ll have to watch again; every time I do, I see something different!!

    • Hey there! It was so cool, wasn’t it. when I put together the slide show about the best quotes, I actually used the final screen as the final slide with only the “The End” on it. I LOVED that they paid that close attention to so many things. I could talk for hours about it! Thanks for commenting!
